FILM SEEN, BOOKS READ, ODDITIES ACCRUED
Erich von Stroheim, 1924. A dark American epic. Not as sophisticated as Foolish Wives, but much grander in scale. Zasu Pitts is effectively grotesque while Gibson Gowland exerts a gravitational force on screen.
